Pictureshow ::: Music For Film

PictureShow’s new album Music for film is the strangest yet captivating album I have heard in a long time. With its constant eerie yet supernatural feel to each track, PictureShow are a very fascinating and entrancing group.

They seem to be completely inspired by MOBY, with each track showing its individual eeriness, with distorted instruments and echoing vocals that progress throughout the album. The name of the album was cleverly chosen as every track gives the feeling as though the music belongs in the movie ‘The Bourne Identity’ or an action movie of some sort.

The clever use of drumbeats and electric guitar bring somewhat of a rock soul vibe to the music without losing its eeriness. The lead singer seems to have a Bono mixed with Radiohead vocal style which was really fascinating.

The only thing I disliked about this album was that each track seemed to roll into the next, which gave a never ending feel to each track. But the use of all the different elements of each instrument was riveting and kept me interested throughout the album.

This album has its spine chilling feel which I find very mystical and enjoyable.
