Kevin Bayliss ::: The Project The fact that Kev Bayliss was a pretty successful video game designer (bringing us a certain sexy, gun brandishing, aristocratic heroine - can you guess who?) made me wary when going about listening to his CD. Why? I thought this was just a side project made out of boredom. And who can blame me? The CD is even called ‘The Project’ after all. And from my experience those types of CDs never work out well.
Anyway I'm extremely happy that I was very wrong; this collection of music is fantastic. It’s hard for me to pick a favourite because I genuinely enjoyed all of the tracks but I’m going out on a limb and choosing ‘My Sorry Cinderella’ as the standout track of the album.
A creepy music box serves as the intro before it bursts into a great punchy pop rock number.
All the songs are pure pop rock and it’s very easy to get lost in the music as it captivates you.
Another track I have to mention is ‘One Day Older’ which is a truly touching track that shows the softer more serious side of Kev.
It’s easy to tell that a really talented group of musicians have made this album and it is well worth the listen.
I’m looking forward to hearing more from Kev Bayliss.
