Hoda Mohajerani ::: Arrivals

Talk about opening an album with a bang! Hoda Mohajerani’s album Arrivals, sure does take over your eardrums from starting track “Whole”. With the use of instruments ranging from cellos to electric guitars and then changing music styles from rock to Indie, it seems like this woman is ready to take over the music industry.

With Hoda and her family fleeing the country because of the Iranian revolution of 1979, we can see how these events has influenced her music and talent to grow. With the use of her poetic lyrics and her music knowledge we can almost tell Hoda’s story from this album. With the use of long pauses in tracks such as Arrivals, she delivers a dramatic yet serious performance in her music.

However the third track seemed to get somewhat hard to listen to, although the first two tracks were quite enjoyable.I would recommend this album to music fans that enjoy the poetic language with no dramatic changes in the vocals.
