Conall Bailey ::: Finding Holes
In 'I Bleed' a really annoying vocal effect is used in the verses which has the effect of dragging a cheese grater up and down your ear drum.
Most of the tracks on Finding Holes are middle of the road rock and acoustic rock songs with not many stand out moments. However, 'Drowning' deserves a mention; a really emotional acoustic track. The backing vocals on this track are beautiful.
'Sneaky' &'Money You Won't Keep' both have promising openings; however 'Sneaky' soon falls into middle of the road rock song territory with the rest of the album. 'Money You Won't Keep' keeps its early promise and turns out to be a pretty enjoyable track.
In places Conall Bailey's vocal reminds me of (a more comprehensible) Paolo Nutini. Whether this is a compliment or not is entirely open to interpretation.
4/6 Review by Maria Molloy
Finding Holes opens with 'You Wanna Feel It'. It has a fab electro synth pop introduction which I'm sad to say quickly disappears once the guitars kick in.
